About

My Bio
I am a product designer by profession and a design facilitator by passion. I teach/learn both IGCSE O levels and IBDP. I will not teacher you DT to get an A* or 7 alone, but push you to enjoy and pursue it as a life skill. While I am a tinker and I explore the unknown by connecting design to all subjects, I would like the world to see design as a verb rather than a noun. I started my journey as an Industrial Designer, specialized in Product Design, from the infamous National Institute of Design, India 2006. I worked as an Industrial Designer in a Design Studio called Desmania Design, India. In 2009, and completed my double Major in Design from Domus Academy, Milan & University of Wales, Cardiff. I have worked with a variety of clients like Matteo di Ponti; Richard Lampert; ROSSIN; ZEITRAUM; FOSCARINI; Proctor & Gamble; Reckitt Benckiser, while in collaboration with Studio Lorenz-Kaz, Milan, Italy & Desmania Design Pvt. Ltd. My career as a design facilitator began in 2010, at Genesis Global School, Noida, where I began as a facilitator for IGCSE and bagged my first coursework assessment certification. I worked here for 9.5 years promoting design through both the national and the international curricula. SUPW and CAS were both spearheaded through design intervention to build a thorough foundation for the students.
My Philosophy
The purest form of learning and interactions, begin in schools. Syllabus content is definitely there; however, my focus is to build design as a life-skill for each candidate. A journey that excites and brings experiences into tangible solutions – so making even the simplest of products should be understood before it is built.
Design should not be studied in isolation. For this purpose, I wish to create sessions where understanding other subjects can be relaxing, easy and fun.
Understanding chemistry through materials & reactions – helps understand build quality; physics through physical properties & function – allows individuals to understand efficiency; mathematics through shapes, measurements & sizes – provides a platform to understand measuring units & accuracy during development; social sciences through making them aware of the context and development of the product, ways in which it can be constructed, different alternatives used, a little about its history & a little about the culture – makes students more aware of what is around them, while being responsible towards everything. It also helps one to hone their skills, making them confident, and up for the challenges that lie ahead. All in all, a better way to learn, without feeling the pressure at any point – and a way to pick up a new skill at the end.
I wish to spread this understanding of design to individuals from all corners of the planet, to not only understand the thinking and application of the subject, but also its use and impact on the environment, people and societies.
I would like you to learn through active participation and a hands-on approach. The idea I wish to instill in each one is to understand the need and build a solution that is functional and cost effective. To do so, one must connect all fields to design, and develop it as an applied science.

Come and learn with me!
To make this an exciting journey for you, either as a young aspirant or a teacher looking for resources, I am sharing a set of wonderful tools to help you revise, understand, build over and strengthen your foundation of design thinking and applications. These aides will help you see what is available to you, and how design can be applied to different scenarios to create an interdisciplinary approach.

My CAS initiatives may also give you possible options to try, to understand the need of the hour, and to build an in-depth understanding of elements around you. In short, I would like you to strengthen connections within school and with the outer world in a way that the experience of teaching and learning becomes comprehensive and well rooted in reality.
